I attended “The Inside Scoop Book Release”

What better way to spend your Saturday afternoon than drinking raspberry peach Bellini’s and celebrating Black women? Held at the U.Studio in Atlanta was The Spoons Consultancy book release event. In celebration of their new book release called ‘The Inside Scoop’, the women-run creative consultancy firm held a gorgeous event inviting many other strong and creative women.

Taking place on November 6th, the book release party was filled with many wonderful moments. Entering the event, you were met with a beautifully decorated interior consisting of white brick walls with botanical arrangements, feature walls and arches – perfect to take and share images of the event on social media.

Celebrating the launch of the new book ‘The Inside Scoop’, writers Jasmine Burnett and Paige Woods gave a short reading. The book discusses the possibilities when grind culture and capitalism’s oppressive forces and distractions are disrupted. The event also featured a moment where we could share and network with other creative femmes at the event.

The event was separated into two parts. The first part of the day consisted of a lovely brunch made by Black chef Asha Haki Tyler. A sit-down experience, we were able to chat with other attendees, enjoy a platter of fresh fruit and waffles, and admire inserts from the new book, learning about the company’s journey through framed text.

The second part of the afternoon was the book release networking event for movement builders, creatives and entrepreneurs. Attendees were able to connect and learn from other creatives within the field - a moment that really catered to myself and others, making the event feel all-encompassing.

Enjoying a glass or two of cocktails and rosé to celebrate the launch of the new book, the event also featured vendors that were Black owned. Guests had the options of tarot readings by Patrice Fenton and to make purchases from vendors Selfish Candles, a Black owned candle company and P. Wines, a Black owned wine company based in Oakland.

A truly wonderful event which illustrated the available support network in Atlanta for Black female creatives. Stay tuned for my next adventure.
